Rules
Note that the UDCTF Discord server also has its own set of rules that covers interactions in the server
Flag format
The flag format in general is UDCTF{foo}
but often udctf{bar}
Who can compete
Anyone in the world, regardless of whether they are a student or not, can compete in UDCTF
What is allowed
Competitors can use search engines, Wikipedia, GitHub, books, etc. to try to solve the challenges. If they get stuck (or something is wrong with the challenge), competitors can ask challenge authors for a hint, but this hint will be shared publicly on the Discord in the interest of fairness.
What is NOT allowed
Competitors are not allowed to share flags or explicit solutions to challenges with other teams. Competitors are also not allowed to directly attack UDCTF/ctfd infrastructure or use tools that would purposefully overwhelm the infrastructure (e.g. dirbuster, nmap). Attacking or exploiting the server, other teams, or machines not explicitly designated as targets within the problems is against the rules. This includes both breaking into such machines and denying others access to them (for example, by altering a key or ping-flooding). Engaging in any of these activites will result in your team being disqualified.
